Winter break restlessness is a good reminder that long unscheduled days will come again soon, making it a good time to plan ahead for summer.
Although warm weather is months away, many spots at popular summer camps are already filled. If your child is interested in attending Jewish summer camp (as a first-time or return camper), and you think you may need some community assistance to provide that, now is the time to act.
To apply for a camper-ship, you must first select the camp and session your child wants to attend. A list of camps and links to websites are available at http://www.jtnews.net/index.php?/guide/lists/C106
The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle’s Camp Scholarship Applications for the summer of 2012 are now available on their website. All applications are due by March 9, 2012. This is a hard and fast deadline. While late submissions will be reviewed, there will be NO GUARANTEE of funds. The Camp Scholarship Committee will meet the week of March 12, 2012 and families will be alerted of scholarship allocations on March 19, 2012.
Please go to www.JewishInSeattle.org/CampScholarships and click on the link at the top of the page that reads “Camp Scholarship Applications for Summer 2012 Are Now Available” to fill out the application. You will need to fill out the entire application at one time, as leaving the web page will result in the data being lost. Once you have completed the application, you will need to click the “Submit” button. At that time you should be sent to a screen that reads “Thank you for Applying” to confirm your application was received.
If you do not have reliable internet access, and would like a hard copy of the application sent to your home, please let Annie know at AnnieJ@JewishInSeattle.org or call 206-774-2243. If you have trouble or questions regarding the application, please call Annie prior to submitting your camper’s application.
